One Technology, Two Companies: How AquaLoch Built the Science and Patriot Soil Solutions USA Takes It to Market

BOERNE, Texas — Patriot Soil Solutions USA today told the story behind its product line: the Boerne-based company is the retail arm of AquaLoch, LLC, created to take AquaLoch soil technology out of development and put it on store shelves. AquaLoch developed the technology; Patriot handles the retail packaging, the wholesale program, and the shelf — a division of labor the company said shapes everything from product design to partner support.

The technology's flagship expression is Soil Quench, a cellulose hydrogel that holds 400 times its weight in water and is formulated to cut irrigation needs by 30 to 50 percent. Around it, the company built a three-product retail system: Soil Quench Hydration Sticks for water storage in the root zone, Low Crawler Castings — pure organic worm castings, 2-0-0 — for biological soil building, and Black Ops Biochar, a premium pecan-shell biochar, for structure and nutrient retention. All three are OMRI Listed, sold in retail packaging under the Patriot name, and stated by the company to be completely safe for kids, pets, livestock, and groundwater.

The retail-arm structure explains the company's go-to-market choices, the company said. Because Patriot exists purely to sell AquaLoch technology at retail, its decisions are shelf decisions: packaging sized for end caps and registers, products positioned as impulse buys, and a wholesale program that bundles marketing support — a media packet, full-color displays, and banners with every partnership — rather than treating retailers as a distribution afterthought. Founding Wholesale Partners receive a store-logo showcase on Patriot's marketing website and local-market radio advertising paid from Patriot's marketing budget.

The structure is also about to be tested at scale. Patriot Soil Solutions USA launches in 130 H-E-B stores in January 2027, growing to 250 stores in year two — the largest retail rollout of AquaLoch technology to date, and one the company said it is preparing for by signing independent nurseries and garden centers through the Wholesale Partner Program first. The same AquaLoch technology also anchors the company's mission work: through its Texas Loves Chile chapter, AquaLoch is taking the soil technology to Chile, where roughly 76 percent of the land is severely degraded. "Hold on, Chile — Texas is coming," the company said, describing the mission and the retail launch as two ends of the same idea: rebuild living soil, starting at home.
